The academic library and the relational turn
Libraries have transitioned from collections to services. We are now seeing another transition, as the relational turn becomes important. The library is positioned in a dense network of partnerships, services, and interactions, and evolves in coordination with its users. This is especially important as the library responds to changes in research and learning behaviors, and to changing information landscapes. In a collections view, information was external, to be managed. Now research and learning workflows consume and produce information throughout the lifecycle.
