However, MOOCs attract a diverse spectrum of learners, who differ in their ability and motivation to manage their own learning. This presentation discusses a group of studies exploring the behaviour of professionals using MOOCs to support informal learning. The conclusions highlight some lessons for designing online content whether for MOOCs or more traditional modes of learning.
