Kate Molloy

Instructional Designer (Education)

Kate Molloy is an Instructional Designer with Atlantic Technological University. Prior to joining ATU, she was a member of the Learning Technologies team in the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching at University of Galway for eight years, and she was the university lead on the Irish Universities Association Enhancing Digital Teaching and Learning project from 2019 – 2022. She is the co-author of three recent chapters in Higher Education for Good: Teaching and Learning Futures, and Learning Design Voices. She is Chair of the Computers in Education Society of Ireland (CESI). Kate has worked in education for nineteen years, moving from the classroom to higher education nine years ago. Her work focuses on the informed and ethical use of technology, learning design, inclusive teaching, and open practice. She is currently enrolled on the part-time PhD track in the School of STEM, Innovation and Global Studies at Dublin City University. Kate’s research project is ‘Towards a postdigital learning design paradigm: A qualitative study of the experiences and perspectives of learning designers in Irish higher education’.
