How can art exploit its value, purpose and interpretational authority as an equal to science by using play as an essential part of the creative process to generate new methods and insight into using scientific data?

This scholarly focus aims to advance knowledge of the positive impact art as a method can have on science. From conviction that artists should be central to scientific research not only working on the periphery; there needs to be a paradigm shift within science which I claim can be activated through examining play, culture, creativity and aesthetics.

The research focuses on emerging debates within a range of complementary but different specialist fields centring upon playful, creative visual methodologies impact on scientific discourse by engaging directly with specialists in different scientific fields.
