Adaptive multiscale shallow flow model: a wavelet-based formulation

Wavelet-based adaptivity is introduced into a one-dimensional finite volume shallow flow model that includes well-balancing with wetting/drying properties. The wavelet-based adaptivity formulation preserves these robust properties with an aggressively coarsened mesh. The adaptive solution is calculated four times faster compared to the solution on a uniform mesh with negligible loss of accuracy.
