This zip folder contains 166 animations made in the early days of digital photography and the Internet. These may be the first cinemagraphs (still photos with moving elements) made more than 10 years before the term cinemagraph was coined. Also some of these may be the first animated selfies.
Making the most of the very limited capabilities of the early Casio camera, Doble sandwiched sequencial still frames into animations that looped and repeated.
As Doble wrote at the time: "My small animations are NOT " mini-movies " but an art form that is quite different. Because they loop and repeat, because the timing is often different from frame to frame, and because pictures may have been taken at different intervals (not regular short intervals like film or video), they are more like music or a pulsing living being."
