This is a database which aims to create a full list of administrative employees of the Office of Ordnance in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. The database currently provides information such as: name, establishment where the employee was based, salary level, length of service, approximate year of birth. The source material is all available in the UK National Archives.

This database has not yet been cleaned and so some of the information will likely be incorrect and/or inaccurate.

The database will be updated to include source material covering additional years. The focus at this time is on the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars period but this may be expanded over time (subject to resource and the source material).

The attached readme file explains the column headings of each table and how the tables are related to each other.

At this stage the database has focussed on administrative employees e.g. Storekeepers, Clerks etc. and has limited information on artificers, armourers, labourers etc.

The database was created in Microsoft Access as part of the Office 365 suite.

Version 2 was uploaded on 7th September 2022.

Please contact Gareth Cole if you have any questions about the database.
