CERN@school: Setting up a CernVM
This document provides a guide to setting up a stand-alone CernVM (CERN Virtual Machine) that can be used for computing work with the CERN@school programme. Based on Scientific Linux 6, the Virtual Machine (VM) featured can be used for data analysis, storage and management with the CERN@school software, which is available via the CernVM File System (CernVM-FS). The CernVM can also be used as a User Interface (UI) to the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid (WLCG).
CERN@school was supported by the UK Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) via grant numbers ST/J000256/1 and ST/N00101X/1, as well as a Special Award from the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851. Infrastructure and technical support was provided by the GridPP Collaboration.
