Crypsis by background matching and disruptive coloration as drivers of substrate occupation in sympatric Amazonian Bark praying mantises
data_1_colour_contrasts => The data sheet contains informations about the mantis ID, the values of chromatic (colour) and achromatic (luminance) contrasts for Blue tit (Cyanistes caeruleus) of each morphoespecies in local and micrhabitat scale for each trunk condition (whitsh and greenish-brown).
data_2_habitat_selection => The data sheet contains informations about the mantis ID, the values edge disruption (GabRat) for Blue tit (Cyanistes caeruleus) of each morphoespecies in trunk condition (whitsh and brown-greenish).
data_3_artificial paper models_human vision=> . The data sheet contains cone catch values for Human vision of green (Liturgusa) and white (Hagiomantis) praying mantises morphoespecies as well the colour paper models that best match in colour with the aritificial paper mantises models.
data_4_human_predation_experiment=> Predation experiments. The data sheet contains the Search time and Encounter distance for each praying mantises morphoespecies tested in predation experiments, for each Human participant – “ predator” and for each type of trunks (whitsh and greenish-brown). The data also contains mean values per participant, n of each prey model, and standard deviation for each trunk condition concerning the variables tested in the experiments: Search time and Encounter distance.
We also provide the scripts corresponding to each of the analyses carried out in the study.
