This project aims to investigate English-speaking children's comprehension of adjectival resultatives. We used the Truth-Value Judgment (TVJ) task developed by Crain and Thornton (1998). It was laptop-based, with PowerPoint animation. The child was told a story illustrated on screen, which was accompanied by an animated Parrot at the corner of the screen. At the end of each story, the Parrot came to the center of the screen and described what was happening. The child judged whether the Parrot "got it right or said something silly". There were 8 test items and the 4 fillers (n = 12) pseudo-randomized. Four different experimental lists were created to control for order effects. Participants were first presented with the four practice items. Then they moved on to the test trials. We used a within-subject design, with each participant seeing all the items.
