To evaluate the Single frequency (SF) and dual frequency (DF) algorithms, the methodology used in Radhakrishna et al. (2016) which consists of simulating the reflectivities and attenuation for both the ku and ka band free of path integrated attenuation (PIA), attenuation produced by precipitation particles between the radar and the surface, and non-uniform beam filling (NUBF) and the scattering parameters were obtained using the T matrix method (Mishchenko and Travis, 1998). Data from the OTT2 parsivel model optical disdrometer and MIRA35C model radar were used for the DJFM period 2017-2018.
