MSG was acquired from Japan and reconstituted to make 5% and 2%. 30 adult male
wistar rats were grouped into 5 groups (N = 6). Group A was treated with MSG
6g/kg s.c; Group B was on 5% MSG in feed; Group C was on 2% MSG in feed and
Group D was on 60 mg/kg s.c while the control, Group E had no MSG. Rats were
treated for 30 days and later on sacrificed and the eye and brain tissue
removed. Tissues were processed using international protocols for antioxidant,
calcium and histopathological changes.
