The influence of magma mixing on the composition of andesite magmas and silicic eruption style

This dataset includes a compilation of magma compositions from published studies that we use to characterize the evolving thermodynamic states (Rhyolite-MELTS) of the melt phase of both intruded and stored magmas in 26 well-documented volcanic systems. This dataset contains output data from Rhyolite-MELTS for both intruded and stored magma at each location. We use this data to determine the evolving viscosity of the melt phase at each stage of crystallization as well as to calculate the effective viscosity of the magma as it cools and crystallizes.
