Primary intracranial sarcomas with DICER1 mutation

Published on by David Solomon
Representative scanned pathology slides from three cases of primary intracranial sarcoma with focal myogenic differentiation, prominent eosinophilic cytoplasmic globules, and DICER1 mutation. Included are hematoxylin and eosin stained sections from the three cases, including both initial and recurrent tumors for patient #2. These were scanned on an Aperio digital slide scanner, and the .SVS files can be viewed using the freely downloadable ImageScope software from Leica Biosystems. These three cases are described in detail in the following report: Lee JC, et al. Primary intracranial sarcomas with DICER1 mutation often contain prominent eosinophilic cytoplasmic globules and can occur in the setting of neurofibromatosis type 1.
