Mid-Cayman Rise Metagenome Assembled Genomes

Published on by Rika Anderson
This project contains all of the data needed to visualize the metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs) described in the paper "Genomic variation in microbial populations inhabiting the marine subseafloor at deep-sea hydrothermal vents" by Anderson et al. This repository contains all files necessary to visualize all of the bins and metagenome-assembled genomes described in this study. These MAGs were created using anvi'o, a visualization and analysis platform for metagenomes. To visualize, simply download anvi'o 2.1.0 using a docker image here: http://merenlab.org/2015/08/22/docker-image-for-anvio/ After installation, download the .tgz files provided in FigShare and uncompress them. These contain the contigs database and profile database for each metagenome, which can be visualized and manipulated in anvi'o. To visualize, type this: $ anvi-interactive -c [name of contigs database] -p PROFILE.db Within anvi'o it is possible to download the FASTA files for each MAG, the coverage information for each MAG within and across metagenomes, as well as variability information for SNVs and SAAVs.
