3D-GROWTH-MDA-MB-231-MATRIGEL

Published on by Nikolaos Dimitriou

In this series of experiments we examined the growth of MDA-MB-231 cell line (Triple Negative Breast Cancer) in 3D Matrigel scaffolds, in absence and presence of Paclitaxel.

Control datasets:

-MDA-MB-231-MATRIGEL-SERIES-1

-MDA-MB-231-MATRIGEL-SERIES-2

Paclitaxel treatment datasets:

-MDA-MB-231-MATRIGEL-PACLITAXEL

Examined Paclitaxel doses: 0.5, 0.05, 0.005, 0.0005 μM

Examined time-points (days): 0, 2, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14

Paclitaxel administration time-point: Day 5

Total number of datasets:

-Control: 12 per time-point (6 in series 1, 6 series 2)

-Treatment: 20 per time-point (5 per dose)

Imaging modality:

-Confocal microscope (Nikon A1R HD25)

Fluorescent label: GFP

Matrigel scaffold shape: semi-ellipsoid

Matrigel scaffold dimensions: 2.5 x 2.5 x 0.9 mm

Cell distribution in Matrigel: sparse and uniform
