Chemical, Microbial and Antibiotic Susceptibility of Bacterial Isolates - Chennai Floods Dec 2015

Results of chemical and microbial analyses of water samples collected from wells, river and lake during December 2015 and April 2016 to assess the impact of an extreme flood event on 2nd December 2015 in Chennai, India. Pathogens isolated from the groundwater showed resistance to antibiotics, namely ceftriaxone, doxycycline and nalidixic acid. However, they were sensitive to chloramphenicol, ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin, and tetracycline.
