Thomas is a Learning Designer based in the Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching (CILT), working on the Formal Online Education Project which seeks to assist UCT lecturers interested in taking parts of their teaching online. Previously, he has worked as a Data Curation Officer in the Digital Library Services unit in UCT Libraries, the Project Curator for the Research in Open Educational Resources for Development programme and as a Research Assistant for the Scholarly Communication in Africa Programme. His primary research interests revolve around Open Educational Resources and Open Data, particularly in the fields of qualitative de-identification and management. He holds a Masters in Education, focusing on OER production and adaptation by postgraduate students at UCT.
