Dr. Pekka Abrahamsson is working as full professor of information systems at University of Jyväskylä. He received his PhD in Software Engineering from University of Oulu in 2002. Prior to his current position, he has served in full professor positions in VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, University of Tampere, University of Helsinki, Free University of Bolzano and in Norwegian University of Science and Technology, NTNU. He is the recipient of several awards including Nokia Foundation Award in 2007 and Top-100 Most Influential Scholar in Software Engineering in 2016. He is the founder and chairman of the global Software Startup Research Network. He is also a founder of a number of startups and publishes actively in the area of software engineering and software startups. He is a long-time member of ISERN and recently uptook the role of co-chair of SEMAT Essence education track with Ivar Jacobson. Prof. Abrahamsson can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
