A 'Soldier-Scholar' who is the first Officer to be sponsored by the Army to read for a PhD in its Higher Defence Studies Programme. Proven track record at all levels of management, with a particular focus on Change and Human Resource Management, using strategic analysis to resolve issues through developing and instituting innovative solutions. The PhD at the University of Strathclyde’s Business School will develop a talent management model for British Army Officers based on an analysis of psychological contract theory. The model will inform future Army officer retention strategy as well as providing a unique academic contribution to Human Resource Management theory.
