Kristian Q. Aldea is an Associate Professor at Catanduanes State University, Philippines. He obtained his Ph.D. in Marine Ecology from Kochi University, Japan, under the Monbukagakusho (MEXT) scholarship. His interests and current engagements are in marine ecology, crustacean biology, coastal conservation, citizen science, and science education, including intersections of these domains.
