Prof K M Baharul Islam is a development communication specialist teaching and researching in the areas of development, public policy and governance issues. At present he is a Professor of Communications at Indian Institute of Management Kashipur. He is also the Chairperson of the Centre for Public Policy and Government at the Institute. He taught in various universities in Asia and Africa and served on several assignments with UNESCO, UNECA and UNESCAP. He is a Fellow at the US India Policy Institute in Washington DC. Prof Islam is an International Fellow at the King Abdullah International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue in Vienna. In 2020, he has been elected as a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland, London. Prof Islam has obtained PhD (Double), MA, MBA, LLM, B.Ed Degrees. He studied at Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, Tezpur University, Asian Institute of Technology (Bangkok) and Strathclyde University (UK).
