Juan Sebastián Fernández-Prados

Almería, Spain

Associated professor of Sociology at the University of Almeria since 1994. He graduated in Philosophy (1989) and in Sociology (1993) at the University of Granada. Doctor in Sociology by the UNED, with the thesis on "Civil society and social change: the political culture of volunteering" (2001). He has studied abroad at various institutions, including the Harvard University Graduate School of Education (Cambridge, MA 1998) and the ICPSR of the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI 2001) where he has explored different types of analysis using the World Values Survey. He has been director of the Survey Methodology Journal. In addition to different publications and research projects on methodology in social sciences, he has taught more than a dozen training courses for pollsters. His last articles: “Comparison of Two Indexes of Measurement of Xenophobia in Andalusia” in REIS (2017) “International public opinion surveys and public policy in Southern European democracies” in JICSP (2018)
