Research Assistant (Ecology not elsewhere classified)

Edinburgh

Felicity (also known as Flic) is currently a Research Assistant on the Flora of Socotra project. Her current role involves sorting and databasing existing herbarium specimens collected from Socotra and Arabia, before collating data from a range of botanical, environmental and historical sources and carrying out spatial analyses to compliment molecular work into the phylogenetic diversity of the flora generated by other members of the project. Following graduation from Ecological Sciences at Edinburgh University and as an alumna of the British Ecological Society Undergraduate Fellowship Scheme, Felicity completed the MSc in Biodiversity and Taxonomy of Plants taught at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh in conjunction with the University of Edinburgh prior to joining the Centre for Middle Eastern Plants. Her masters research project focussed on surveying and vegetation analysis of oak woodland on Peramagroon mountain in the Kurdish Region of Iraq, considering the effects of grazing and woodland management.
