Working in academic development in higher education is extremely rewarding. As a researcher, educator, and facilitator, I focus on teaching, learning, and educational technologies in higher education.
I'm an Assistant Professor and Faculty Development Consultant in the Academic Development Centre at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Canada. My interests include: teaching and learning, faculty support, engaging pedagogies, open education, and educational technologies. In particular, I study social media and digital literacies.
In my doctoral work, I investigated student perceptions of social media technologies to make meaning of their university learning, and the related implications of digital native discourse for higher education policy and practice.
