I'm a Brazilian biologist with a postdoctoral degree in zoology. I have focus in ichthyology, with an emphasis on natural history (including ethnoecology and recreational and artisanal fisheries) of Neotropical fish. I acted as a consultant of the United Nations Development Program and private companies from 2009 to 2013. During my academic training I received scholarships from Brazilian development agencies, such as CNPq, CAPES and FAPESP. Since 2013 I have a permanent position as a professor of the UNESP - São Paulo State University, southeastern Brazil. Since then I have been working in research, extension and conservation actions involving freshwater and marine fish in different regions of Brazil and neighboring countries. I have a history of leadership, collaboration and funding of projects supported by non-governmental organizations, privative companies and government funding agencies.
