Boris Ochoa-Tocachi

Boris F. Ochoa-Tocachi is a PhD in Hydrology and an MSc in Hydrology and Water Resources Management by Imperial College London, UK, and a Civil Engineer by the University of Cuenca, Ecuador. He is the CEO of ATUK Consultoría Estratégica, founder of the Institute for Applied Sustainability Research (iiasur) in Ecuador, and scientific advisor for Forest Trends in the “Natural Infrastructure for Water Security” project in Peru. Boris has developed his professional and academic expertise around mountain hydrology, hydrological monitoring and ecosystem service management. In the last five years, he has published over 40 scientific articles and policy briefs, delivered more than 100 talks and conference presentations, seminars, and webinars, and received 10 prizes and awards. Currently, he investigates about nature-based solutions, natural infrastructure, and ancient and conventional engineering options to solve problems related to national and global water security.
