A/Prof André Stephan conducts internationally-awarded and pioneering research to improve environmental performance across multiple scales of the built environment, at the intersection of life cycle assessment, material stocks and flows analysis, and parametric modelling. He targets practical research outcomes that have the potential to inform decision-making in the industry. André is an Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne. In this position, he crafts and teaches new courses that tackle environmental performance across the scales of the built environment and focus on innovative construction techniques and design that integrates a dual architectural engineering approach. He informs his teaching by research and practical experience in Australia, Belgium and Lebanon. The contribution of André's work to the field of environmental assessment of the built environment has been acknowledged by 19 awards so far.
