AM Azevedo graduated in Chemical Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) of the University of Lisbon in 1996. In 1999, she completed the MSc degree in Biochemical Engineering/Biotechnology and in 2004 the PhD degree in Biotechnology both at IST. In 2005, AM Azevedo started her post-doctoral studies in the framework of an EU project aimed at the design of a novel class of materials for the purification of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs). Since, October 2008, AM Azevedo is as Research Scientist.
Up to date, AM Azevedo has co-authored 73 peer-reviewed papers. She has an h-index of 23 and has completed the supervision of 3 PhD students and 27 MSc students. She is currently supervising 5 PhD Student and 3 MSc Students.
AM Azevedo is currently invited assistant professor at the Department of Bioengineering of Instituto Superior Técnico and has received 7 awards for Excellence in Teaching from the Pedagogical Council of IST.
