Android is a very popular open-source operating system used by millions of people on their phones and tablets. Developers make apps for Android relying on APIs that are released with each new version of Android. But because Android changes so quickly, developers need to be careful to make sure their apps work on different devices running different versions of Android. This Ph.D. work focuses on studying these compatibility issues and developing new tools to help find and fix them. We hope our work will help developers make better apps for Android users.
