TAO: Facebook's Distributed Data Store for the Social Graph

This paper presents TAO, Facebook's solution for storing and efficiently serving its social graph. A data model, an API for querying this data model and the hardware infrastructure put in place for this are detailed, along with a real-world performance evaluation.
