<p>This document is designed to act as a reference manual to support introductory public and patient involvement (PPI) in academic research training. The training is designed for PPI contributors*. </p>

<p>*We use PPI contributors all an all-encompassing term for people for whom the research affects, who are not professional researchers or corporate stakeholders. PPI contributors may include individuals living with experience of a specific social or health condition or impairment, patients, carers, patient organisations, disabled person organisations, or community- based organisations.</p>
