The contributor referenced the first item: a board signed by men who left to fight in D-Day from Hardway, Gosport. He noted that the foundation, with which he was involved, had tracked down almost all of them men who signed the board.
The contributor explained the history of the second item: a plaque found in Fort Brockhurst belonging to the North Nova Scotia Highlanders. The Plaque was presented to Lieutenant Colonel Roy Smilie, and made by Kelly Grant, in 1975.
Furthermore, he explained that the 'D-Day Fellowship' had began after two local gentlemen formed a group with the aim of establishing a memorial for British and Allied troops who left on D-Day in Gosport. He noted that, on D-Day, troops left from Stokes Bay, Gosport.
