The three site-specific installations Piss Paper, Shitmits and Chub explored the potential of marginal spaces, and the notion of subversive decoration in a public context. Pisspaper and Shitmits consist of gender/ body specific  wallpapers adhered to the walls of the Artspace ground floor public toilets. Each pattern features motifs associated with the abject in a decorative design.

The installation Chub was housed in the buildings elevator and similarly attempted to bring a visceral body specific experience to a space associated with an otherwise banal experience. Both works challenge the perception the status of these rooms as marginal, peripheral and usually outside the critically validated experience of the gallery.

The work was commissioned by curators Alexie Glass and Talia Linz for the high profile international exhibition ‘An Imprecise Science' (featuring artists such as Walead Beshty (USA), Alicja Kwade (Poland), and Ragnar Kjartansson (Iceland)). The exhibition received significant attention in the form of critical reviews in print and other media. While commissioned for the Imprecise Science exhibition Pisspaper and Shitmits remain on permanent display at Artspace.
