ESA SST CCI Analysis -- Movie of sea surface temperature contrasts

This is a movie prepared by Guy Griffiths of the University of Reading e-Science Centre from data created by ESA's Sea Surface Temperature project within its Climate Change Initative (SST CCI). The data are a spatially completed (in-filled) daily blend of satellite measurements of SST. The latitudinally dependent colour bar is intended to render contrasts in SST equally visible at all latitudes (which sometimes get obscured with typical rainbow colour scales). The movie progresses at 1 day per frame. Sea ice is also overlaid, from the Ocean and Sea Ice Satellite Application Facility.
