Accentricity podcast, episode 18: Anna and Sadie's Story
This is episode 18 of Accentricity, a podcast about sociolinguistics. In this podcast I try to narrow the gap between academic and non-academic understandings of language, by speaking to a range of people from inside and outside of academia.
My mum, Anna, is Polish. But she’s not from Poland - she was born in Edinburgh, and has lived there for most of her life. How can someone who is completely Scottish also be completely Polish? And why does the Polish language play such an important role in her life?
