Virtual Character Conceptual Framework. Star Classroom Simulator: Assessing, Preparing and Retaining Star Teachers for Effective Classroom Management in Urban Schools
The Star Classroom Simulator is designed to create a realistic virtual classroom populated with simulated virtual students for practicing and pre-service teachers to hone their skills in classroom management. The simulation will provide teachers and administrators the tools to assess, practice and improve their ability to engage and motivate the most challenging students as individuals and as a group. It is anticipated that this simulator will increase the quality of K-12 education as well as improve the likelihood of retaining highly effective teachers by creating a more productive and respectful learning environment. The Virtual Character Conceptual Framework proposed in this whitepaper provides the basis for the simulated virtual students for the Star Classroom Simulator.
