This is a recent "Matters Arising" submission to Nature Geoscience entitled "Questioning High Nitrogen Fixation Rate Measurements in the Southern Ocean". In this paper we point to some questionable data presentation practices in Shiozaki et al. (2020). We detail our rationale for why the data do not support the authors conclusion of high rates of N2 fixation at the ice-edge of Antarctica. Our intent in submitting this commentary is to promote data transparency and best practices in the use of the 15N2 tracer method.
