The Dark Knight of Gotham is a collection of essays, from which you will learn about the genesis of the creation of the icon of American pop culture - Batman, as well as the most important texts related to the area of DC Comics mythology. In the book, both comic books and films are subjected to an in-depth analysis, conducted especially through the prism of the cognitive apparatus of deviant sociology. It's also a look at the Batman character in the age of political correctness, allowing us to discover how progressivism is changing the pronunciation of one of the most famous literary and transmedia heroes.

"[The book] has immeasurably enriched my knowledge of a figure symbolic not only to the world of comics, pop culture, or culture in general. (...) a study dedicated not so much to Batman, but - in its essence - to the modern man who, like a hooded avenger, hides his multidimensional identity under the mask of a mystery waiting to be uncovered."

Dr. Piotr Kletowski, Prof. UJ, Institute of the Near and Far East

"Mr. Michal Chudolinski is an excellent expert on popular culture, including comics. He captivated me with his diligence and knowledge of the subject. Culture-related media and universities should take advantage of this."

Prof. Jacek Dabala, media scholar, Institute of Journalism, Media and Social Communication at Jagiellonian University
