This article presents the implementation and simulations carried out with the distance unit model proposed in parts 1 and 2. The internal signals of the relay are analyzed: analog current and voltage signals filtered by the anti-aliasing filter, digitization of filtered analog signals, estimation of current and voltage phasors, evaluation of phase comparator equations, calculation of apparent fault impedances and response times. The distance model was implemented to protect a 230 kV line located in an equivalent network transmission system of ENDE Transmission.
