MetaDIG provides quality analysis tools for researchers to assess metadata and data records against community recommendations. We provide a computational engine that allows discrete metadata checks to be written in multiple languages, including R, Python, and Java. These checks can operate on both the metadata and data available from the DataONE federation of data repositories, and return results in a standard format. Multiple metadata dialects are supported, including Ecological Metadata Language (EML), ISO 19115, and the Biological Data Profile, among others. Data and metadata congruency can be checked as well.
