We constructed composite electrodes: MnFe2O4/PANI and Fe2O4/Graphite and studied their electrochemical behavior for their application in microbial fuel cells. The composite materials and electrodes were characterized using powder X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectoscopy, cyclic voltammetry and custom built microbial fuel cell. These electrodes were found to have a superior performance in microbial fuel cell in comparison to carbon electrode. These electrodes were also able to generate consistent current and potential up to 5 days in a waste water microbial fuel cell.
