(2016) from the same borehole intervals. ΨGroundwater infiltration date and age calculated based on an infiltration altitude of 2200 m and an infiltration temperature based on the year average surface temperature for Grimsel 2°C. Sensitivity analysis reviled altitude variation (1800m – 2600m) and temperature variations (0°C to 10°C) give a variance of 5 years in the predicted groundwater residence time based on piston flow model.
