Neighbour-net phylogenetic networks of Oryzias species endemic to the Malili Lake system based on Nei's genetic distance calculated from 1,989 genome-wide SNPs (modified from [18]). Note that the internal branch leading to O. matanensis individuals, including the possible heteroplasmic individual (O. matanensis F04), is long and thin; this indicates that they have long been isolated. Note also that several network connections are evident between internal branches, which indicates that Oryzias species in this lake system repeatedly underwent ancient hybridisation.
