Shown are electron microscopy images of longitudinal sections of the Achilles myotendinous junctions in addition to transverse sections of gastrocnemius muscles. Note that expression of microdystrophin disrupted the myotendinous junctions and led to formation of ringed fibers (arrow). Scale bar  = 5 µm for myotendinous junctions and 2 µm for transverse sections of gastrocnemius muscles.
