Viability of 3D human hepatic cultures.

Imaging of 3D hepatic constructs was performed using a macro-confocal microscope at 20X magnification. Representative LIVE/DEAD images are shown at days 1, 4, and 7. Live cells are marked as green and dead cells are marked by red nuclei. Large clusters/aggregates of viable hepatocytes are observed. All hepatic constructs remained viable for at least seven days of culture. All scale bars are 100 μm.
