Colors indicate host species from which ticks were taken, with the number of individual hosts in parentheses to the right of host name. Common names for each species are dog (Canis familiaris), cat (Felis catus), horse (Equus caballus), American black bear (Ursus americanus amblyceps), elk (Cervus canadensis nelson), mule deer (Odocoileus hemionus), Coues deer (Odocoileus virginianus couesi), black-tailed jack rabbit (Lepus californicus) and pallid bat (Antrozous pallidus).
