In women with true-negative results and STAI≥40 at Q1 (n = 312, 27.9%), anxiety was significantly lower after the 13-week scan (Q2: 40.0, 33.3–46.7 vs. Q1: 46.7, 40.0–50.0, p<0.01) and further decreased after the 20-week scan (Q4: 36.7: 33.3–43.3 vs Q3: 40.0: 36.7–46.7, p<0.01). In women with true-negative results and lower initial STAI-scores (STAI<40) (n = 707, 62.2%), no significant differences in median STAI-scores were found (Q2: 33.3, 30.0–36.7 vs Q1: 33.8, 26.6–36.7; p = 0.21 and Q4: 33.3, 26.7–36.7 vs Q3: 32.1, 24.6–35.2; p = 0.57).
