Supplemental Figure 2. Growth curves for parental, AAF deletion, plasmid complemented, and revertant EAEC strains. 

Pink circles and bars represent the parental wt strain, green squares and bars the major pilin subunit gene deletion strains, orange diamonds and bars the deletion strain with the control pACYC184 plasmid, purple symbols and bars the deletion strain with the complementation plasmid or the revertant strain as indicated above each graph. Bars indicate standard deviation (SD) for n≥3 or range for n=2.

Methods: Each strain was grown in Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) high glucose with l-glutamine (Genesee Scientific) in 50 mL tubes at 37°C with shaking. The optical density, OD600, was measured every hour. Aliquots were collected for CFU enumeration at the indicated times.
