These are Images of serious icing onboard ships after
or during the passage of Polar Lows. 110
tons of ice thus accumulated during a 17 hours period on KV Nordkapp on the
27th February 1987 in the Barents Sea as illustrated on the top middle panel (Foreship
and wheel house) and top right image (starboard walkway and railing). The ice
had accumulated from the deck railing all the way to the top of the wheel house
as can be seen on these images.
